The Cornelissen Group takes over national DC and VAL activities from Daily Logistics Group (DLG)
Back to the overviewNijmegen July 3 – As of July 3, 2023, the Cornelissen Group will take over the floriculture DC in Bleiswijk with VAL activities and the employees involved from Daily Logistics Group. This concerns VAL activities of floriculture products for Albert Heijn. The takeover of activities concerns the DC equipped for this purpose and 30 employees and is a further reinforcement of the existing activities of the Cornelissen Group.
Both family businesses are known for their expertise, excellent quality of service and a modern view on logistics operations. By introducing further focus and specialization in their chosen market segments, both companies are ahead of the future.
“We see the acquisition of these activities as a further strengthening of our services. Retail and retail distribution are increasingly becoming a real specialty in the market and with this increase in scale we can offer our customers an even broader service portfolio. Scale is also necessary to keep up with the flexibility, energy transition and digitization in our sector,” says Mark van der Drift, CEO of the Cornelissen Group.
Joost Visbeen, CEO of DLG says about the acquisition: “The sale of these activities is a strategic choice to maintain the right focus in the company. The DC and the associated activity is a stand-alone part of the recently completed takeover of GIST Nederland B.V. The international activities of this acquisition are already integrated into DLG's infrastructure and operations and provide added value to the DLG network and its customers. We are very happy that people have ended up with a real family business like Cornelissen and that a great future perspective has been created.”
